A Public Swimming Park For Governors Island (Ideas Competition for Governors Island, 1996)

The new topography is constructed in memory of the landscape, which is now invisible. A large swimming lake is fed by water collected from New York Harbor and purified using man-made wetlands. This method of purifying water from the harbor creates a museum of the natural hydrologic cycle. The park is conceived of as a place of social experimentation in the cooperation of interdependent user groups.
